Welcome to "New York’s Great Appliance Swap Out" website which will provide all the information you need in order
to participate. This rebate program, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority
(NYSERDA), is available to residential consumers replacing existing appliances of the same type with new ENERGY
STAR® qualified appliances or High Efficiency ENERGY STAR appliances. A
larger rebate will be granted to
consumers who
recycle their discarded appliances.
All funding for New York’s Great Appliance Swap Out has been reserved! However, our experience to date has shown that not every reservation made by an applicant is followed up with the required submission of a complete and valid application. Applicants that do not submit completed applications in a timely manner will not receive the rebate. As a result, these funds can be added back into the program as they become available.
In anticipation of these funds being added back, we are starting a waiting list and will process complete and valid applications on a first-come, first-serve basis as long as funds remain available. While we cannot guarantee that any additional funding will be available, we would like to offer this rebate funding to applicants if it does becomes available. Please be sure to follow the application requirements outlined in this website to ensure that your application can be processed. NYSERDA will continue to process complete and valid applications on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funds are available.
For applicants that have reserved a rebate and have not submitted their completed rebate applications, please do so by July 31, 2010 so that you can receive the rebate funding that was reserved for you. After July 31, if your application has not been completed, you will not be eligible to receive the rebate funds.

Two rebate options are offered under "New York’s Great Appliance Swap Out" Rebate Program. Please click on

Option 1 – Single Appliance Rebate (eligible appliances: ENERGY STAR refrigerators, freezers and clothes washers)
and
Option 2 – Appliance Bundle Rebate (eligible appliances: High Efficiency ENERGY STAR refrigerators, clothes washers and dishwashers)
This rebate program was made possible thanks to grants issued by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to States and Territories to provide American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding to develop and implement Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate Programs.
